DC1050

About the product

DC1050 is a spray-applied, viscoelastic vibration damping compound that reduces structure-borne noise on sheet metal and irregular surfaces. The PVAc-based emulsion with mineral fillers is ideal for automotive body panels, railway coaches/locomotives, ventilation shafts/ducts, machine guards, enclosures, elevators and appliances.

Stir thoroughly and apply with a pressure-fed spray (≈ 4.5 bar, 3/8–1/2″ nozzle). Use a primer on metal. Typical usage is ≈ 1.6 kg/m² wet for ~1 mm coverage. Apply up to 3 mm per coat on vertical surfaces, allowing each layer to dry above 10 °C (hot-air fans recommended). For weathering protection, finish with two coats of bituminous paint.

  • Proven damping performance: designed for thickness- and temperature-dependent loss-factor gains; Class 1 fire rating (BS 476 Part 7) at 1.6 kg/m² on 1.25 mm steel.
  • Industrial properties: specific gravity (dry) ≈ 1300 kg/m³; solids 65%; thermal conductivity 0.3 W/m·°C.
  • Practical supply: 25 kg plastic pails; 200 kg drums on request; shelf life 6 months unopened.
