MPM - Metal Sandwich Sheets

About the product

MPM is a structure-borne sound damping sandwich sheet made from two metal skins with a viscoelastic core. Supplied in electro-galvanized or stainless steel (aluminium on request), the standard build is symmetrical for optimal damping. Typical applications include ventilation shafts, transport chutes, machinery enclosures, elevators, trains, buses and trucks.

The construction enables a noise level reduction of up to 10–20 dB in vibrating sheet-metal systems, while maintaining metal durability and processability. MPM can be welded and stamped (with some limits on tight bends) and should be conditioned to room temperature (~20 °C) for 48 hours before processing. Short-term heat resistance up to 230 °C.
